"For one human being to love another; that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation." Rainer Maria Rilke "Love and pity and wish well to every soul in the world; dwell in love, and then you dwell in God." William Law "Love . . . the essence of God." Ralph Waldo Emerson "The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it." Albert Einstein "Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash." Leonard Cohen "We Christians must simplify our lives or lose untold treasures on earth and in eternity. Modern civilization is so complex as to make the devotional life all but impossible. The need for solitude and quietness was never greater than it is today." A.W. Tozer "Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, to all the souls you can, in every place you can, at all the times you can, with all the zeal you can, as long as ever you can." John Wesley "In the majority of our meetings there is scarcely a trace of reverent thought, no recognition of the unity of the body, little sense of the divine Presence, no moment of stillness, no solemnity, no wonder, no holy fear." | REALIZING FRUIT AS AN ARTIST |
“Being an artist means not numbering or counting, but ripening like a tree, which doesn't force its sap, standing confidently in storms, not afraid that summer may not come.” (Rainer Maria Rilke) “Why don't you think of Him as the one who is coming, who has been approaching from all eternity, the one who will someday arrive, the ultimate fruit of a tree whose leaves we are?” (Rainer Maria Rilke) |
| WHAT A GREAT WEEK! |
We realized a number of miracles during this past week. 1) Jesse & Carla returned home safely from a trip to Texas. 2) While Jesse & Carla were gone, debi & I cared for our 7-month-old granddaughter, Cora Vine, a miracle herself. 3) God has opened the doors for us to collaborate with WRNO Worldwide Radio, the 3rd most powerful short-wave radio station in the world. 4) A tremendous time of fellowship & brainstorming with a pastor & the businessmen we are working with at the Valley Event Center in Fountain, CO. 5) Fresh commitments from both the Colorado Springs Gazette and The Denver Post to cover debi's Ancient Future Art Exhibition of May 8 - 29 at the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts. 6) An open door for Taikos.com to work with Shoji Tabuchi, who utilizes Taiko drums in his amazing show at his Branson theater. 7) A renewal of the invitation to take a team of Christian artists from Colorado Springs to Florence, Italy. 8) An invitation to join Dr. Charles Travis, President of Logos University, on his trip to Rome, where he will be meeting with the Pope. After 37 years of living by faith, it just keeps getting better and even more exciting with each passing day. |
